Dive Dayang Island
Located 65 km off the coast of Mersing in northeast Johore, Dayang Island is a hidden gem in the South China Sea, offering an untouched paradise that awaits discovery. As the furthest island in West Malaysia, Dayang boasts crystal-clear blue waters and vibrant marine life, making it a striking destination for those seeking an unspoiled escape.

While sports-fishermen have long known Dayang for its prime Black Marlin fishing spots, this sunny island remains relatively unknown to most—often described as a "new discovery" in a world of well-trodden destinations. But as more accommodations pop up and word spreads about its stunning beauty and world-class underwater wonders, Dayang Island is poised to become one of the world’s most breathtaking island paradises.

Diving deeper into its culture and history, Dayang is part of the Pulau Aur group of islands. "Aur," which translates to "Bamboo" in Malay, gives Pulau Aur its name, "Bamboo Island." Known to Chinese sailors for centuries, Aur has been a familiar landmark on nautical charts since the 17th century, including those from the legendary voyages of Admiral Zheng He. From afar, Aur’s two majestic peaks were named Xi Zhu Shan (West Bamboo Mountain) and Dong Zhu Shan (East Bamboo Mountain), symbolizing the island’s twin peaks.

Dayang Island itself is the second-largest in the Aur group, separated from its sister island by the Dayang Channel. Here lies Kampung Pasir Putih, or "Village of White Sand," home to the renowned Dayang Island Resort. With its pristine beaches, endless sunshine, and a rich history, Dayang is truly a place waiting to be explored. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a curious traveler, this tropical paradise offers a tranquil escape like no other.
